Manufacturer of Buttweld LR/SR 45° Elbow Fittings | ASME/ANSI B16.9, ANSI B16.28, MSS-SP-43
A Buttweld 45 Degree Elbow serves a similar purpose as a 90° elbow, but it differs in dimensional measurements. The radius of a 45° elbow matches that of a 90° Long Radius (LR) elbow (1½D), but the "center-to-face" dimension is not the same as the radius, unlike 90° LR elbows. This dimension is measured from each end face to the intersection point of the centerlines that form a right angle. The difference arises due to the smaller angle of the bend. Notably, 45° elbows are only available in long radius; short radius 45° elbows do not exist.
45° elbows are manufactured in a wide range of materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, and non-ferrous metals, to suit different pressure and temperature conditions. Due to their geometry, 45-degree elbows are often used when the pipeline design needs to avoid obstacles or fit within tight spaces while still allowing for gentle directional shifts. ASME B16.9 45 Degree Elbow manufactured in various sizes, typically ranging from ½ inch to 48 inches in diameter, with different wall thicknesses according to standard schedules (e.g., SCH 10, SCH 40, SCH 80).
Ample Alloys, certified with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, OHSAS 18000:2007, and PED, is a leading manufacturer and stockist of Buttweld 45° Elbows. We offer a diverse range of elbows in materials like Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, Alloy Steel, Duplex Steel, Super Duplex, Nickel Alloys, Monel, Copper Nickel, Hastelloy, and more. Accurate Testing Processes
Utilizing precise and accurate testing processes to ensure the highest quality and compliance with industry standards.
- Smooth Flow Transition: The 45° angle ensures a smoother flow path compared to sharper angles, reducing turbulence and pressure drop.
- Long Radius Design: Typically available in long radius (1.5D), providing a gradual change in direction, minimizing erosion and wear.
- Wide Material Selection: Available in a variety of materials like Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, Alloy Steel, Duplex Steel, Super Duplex Steel, Nickel Alloys, Monel, Copper Nickel, and Hastelloy, to suit different pressure, temperature, and corrosion resistance requirements.
- Seamless and Welded Options: Offered in both seamless and welded forms to meet diverse project needs.
- Standard Compliance: Manufactured as per international standards like ASME B16.9, ANSI B16.9, ensuring quality and reliability.
45 Degree Elbows are commonly used in various industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, water treatment, and HVAC systems. They help in changing the direction of flow efficiently while minimizing turbulence and pressure drop.
-
Long Radius (LR) 45 Degree Elbow: This type has a centerline radius that is 1.5 times the nominal pipe diameter (1.5D). It provides a gentler change in flow direction, reducing pressure loss and flow resistance. LR elbows are more commonly used due to their ability to handle higher pressure and flow rates. Available in sizes from ½ inch to 48 inches and various schedules (e.g., SCH 10, SCH 40, SCH 80, SCH 160).
-
Short Radius (SR) 45 Degree Elbow: The SR elbow has a centerline radius equal to the nominal pipe diameter (1D). These are less common for 45-degree angles and are typically used in tight spaces where pipeline flexibility is limited. However, SR 45-degree elbows are not widely manufactured due to their limited applications. Typically available in limited sizes, usually smaller diameters, as these are used in specific, space-constrained applications.
